A message from our Founder

On the morning of April 12, 2023, our son, Christian passed away suddenly and tragically at the age of 17. He was found unresponsive when I went to wake him for school.

We found out later, his cause of death was a result of him accidentally ingesting fentanyl a few hours earlier.

On the morning of April 12, 2023, our son, Christian passed away suddenly and tragically at the age of 17. He was found unresponsive when I went to wake him for school.

We found out later, his cause of death was a result of him accidentally ingesting fentanyl a few hours earlier.

As with many teenagers today, Christian struggled with his mental health, and was diagnosed and treated for depression and anxiety. Prior to his untimely passing, he was preparing to graduate from high school.

Christian was a beautiful human. His smile brightened every room he walked into. He was a huge fan of music, science fiction movies, and fashion. To know him was to love him and he was loved by so many. He made a positive impact on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He is deeply missed.

The foundation of Equitea is to help destigmatize mental health and make mental health centered products more accessible and equitable. That goal has expanded to raising awareness for and working to help prevent fentanyl poisoning. No parent should have to bury a child, and unfortunately, we are losing our children to this pandemic at an alarming rate.

The last picture I have of Christian, he was holding cans of Equitea at our neighborhood Sprouts store.

In his memory, we continue this mission.

No parent, no family should ever have to experience this pain. We are dedicated to helping to bring awareness to fentanyl poisoning and hopefully prevent another family from going through this unthinkable loss.
